About Elouera SLSC

Elouera Surf Life Saving Club is fast approaching 50 years of surf life saving in the Bate Bay area.

The Elouera web site is in the process of being redeveloped, and when completed it will be a worthwhile visit. The site details the achievements of our members and the Club, which can also be viewed via our Annual Report and newsletter, The Warrior. We also intend to record these achievements in a book detailing the last 50 years.

We are proud to say that Elouera is a friendly, family oriented club, with members ranging in age from five to 80 years. We pride ourselves especially on the inclusive nature of our Junior Activities Nipper program. The Surf Awareness Clinic is run in the January school holidays each year, and is sponsored by Tradies Club. This five-day event is extremely successful and continues to win community awards.

To complement this program, we have dedicated and talented education staff who train hundreds of prospective and veteran life savers in the latest skills and proficiencies required to keep themselves, their families and the public safe on the beach.

The Elouera Surf Club would not have started if not for the help of the other surf clubs in Bate Bay. It should be noted, too, that we were originally a Police Citizens Boys Surf Life Saving Club–arguably one of its kind in Australia.

In reporting about our achievements in this domain you will see that our members are quite special. From our rescues (some of which have been recognised by Surf Life Saving as outstanding, and for which our members have received commendations) to our competition efforts, we believe we are unique. In its short life, Elouera has won almost every surf life saving title, including District, Branch, Metropolitan, State, National and International.

We are currently undergoing renovations which will make our Club even more effective and enjoyable for the members and the public.

From a humble tent on the beach in 1966 to the great building we have now, our growth as a Club is an achievement that members can be proud of. See you all soon on Elouera Beach!
