PRESS RELEASE
30th TRADIES SURF AWARENESS CLINIC SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED
The very popular Tradies Surf Awareness Clinic was successfully conducted over 5 days recently by the Elouera Surf Life Saving Club in fine weather and favourable sea conditions, to complete a major milestone since its inception in 1983.
Just under 300 children, 7 to 12 years of age were given valuable instruction on a wide range of general surf safety practices, the recognition of surf dangers as well as first aid and personal care whilst outdoors by over 110 volunteer surf club members.
The week’s activities finished on a high note with the presentation of ‘Attendance Certificates’ and gift bags to the excited children as they departed and with many favourable comments offered by the parents, the future of the clinic is assured.
This award winning community event has grown significantly in popularity since its inception and after this major 30 year milestone, it is set to continue with this success together with the valuable support of the Sutherland District Trade Union Club.
Details of the 2013 event will soon be displayed on the Elouera Club’s web site (www.elouera.com.au)
