Our popular annual community event was successfully concluded on Friday, January 15, 2010 after some 300 children between the ages of 7 and 12 years thoroughly enjoyed themselves during the clinic week whilst learning surf safety. This event has now been sponsored by the Elouera SLS Club's major sponsor - the Sutherland District Trade Union Club (Tradies) for some 14 years and Elouera is extremely proud of its close association with this long standing sponsor. Many children have attended this "Community Event" for at least 3 years and have indicated that they will return again for the 29th event. Over 90 club members volunteered to assist with the conduct of this year's clinic in a range of duties which included Water Safety, Instruction on Surf Awareness, First Aid and Age Group supervision etc and the club extends its warmest appreciation to these members for donating their valuable time to the clinic week.
The event finished on a high note for the children in front of a number of VIP's, with the presentation of attendance certificates and a gift bag containing a variety of sweets provided by long standing sponsors and Elouera offers its appreciation to these sponsors for their continued support: Darrell Lea, Kelloggs, McDonalds (Caringbah), Cancer Council of NSW, Miranda Police Command, Banana Boat sun screen, Sutherland Council Lifeguards and Bakers Delight (Cronulla).
