Elouera Surf Club Closure

Wednesday 25 March 2020

Dear Elouera Members,

Everyone is aware that the COVID-19 outbreak represents a significant risk to the community, including our membership.

It is our intention to keep you informed of ongoing changes that will affect the surf club and it's members.

"The NSW Government has taken significant new steps to increase restrictions across the state - triggering the next level of enforcement necessary to fight COVID-19.

  • Pubs, registered clubs
  • Gyms, indoor sporting venues
  • Cinemas, entertainment venues, casinos, and night clubs
  • Restaurants and cafes will be restricted to takeaway and/or home delivery
  • Religious gatherings, places of worship (excluding small weddings and funerals that comply with the 4m2 rule, which can proceed)."

As of 12pm yesterday Monday 23rd March, 2020 the club building including fitness centre (gym), showers and toilets were closed and went into lockdown.

Since we have had a firm directive from Surf life Saving Sydney Branch that there will be no organized training during this period, thus no member will allowed to use any club equipment whether that be boat, board, ski or gym equipment.

All club equipment should be returned and stored at the club.

For those that have their own personal craft in the board shed or equipment and wish to use it over the coming months, the gear shed access will remain open until 6pm Saturday 28th March 2020 for you to remove your gear.

Key (Fob) access to the club will then be locked until further notice.

We are currently waiting advice regarding patrols and will get the information to you as soon as possible.

We wish our members and families all the best during this period

Kind regards,

Darren Galea
