The Elouera Surf Awareness Clinic has been awarded many community water safety awards since its inception in 1982, the most recent being the 2024 Surf Life Saving Sydney Innovation Award of Excellence, the clinic was also a finalist in the same category for the Surf Life Saving NSW AoE.
The 41st annual Elouera Surf Awareness Clinic, supported by the Sutherland District Trade Union Club – ‘Tradies’, is for children aged 7 to 12 years and is a 5-day clinic scheduled for the week of Monday 6 to Friday 10 January 2025, from 8:45am to 12:00pm daily. Early bird registration is $60.00 per child until the 31 December 2024 and $70.00 from 1 January 2025.
Activities include surf swimming, nipper and body board riding, IRB rides as well as beach safety and resuscitation education.
To be eligible to participate in the clinic, each child must be able to swim 50 meters unaided. A swim test will be conducted at Caringbah Leisure Centre, Jacaranda Road, Caringbah on Friday, 3 January 2025 from 9:00am to 10:30am. Children who are 2024/25 registered nippers or can supply a 50m swim competency certificate from a registered/authorized swim school do not need to attend the swim test.
The 50m swim competency test is a condition of acceptance of applications to participate in the clinic.
Registrations open Friday 1 November 2024 and are limited to 280 participants.
