I’m keen to get feedback on Elouera’s monthly newsletter to members and would love to hear your suggestions, and content ideas, for future issues.

As we edge closer to the start of the 2023/24 lifesaving season, on behalf of Elouera’s Board of Management I’d like to welcome everyone back, I have no doubt that we’ll continue to grow and achieve following the extremely successful previous season. We have many returning, and a number of new directors, a list of names and positions were distributed in early August (Your Elouera Team For 2023-24) . As always, if you see any of us around the Club, or have any ideas, or concerns please don’t hesitate to speak with us, we are always open to suggestions and feedback on ways to make the environment a more enjoyable place for members.
As always, Elouera’s Board of Management has been extremely busy in the offseason, planning education course and proficiency calendars, surf sports programs, activities for our youth, nippers’ format and camps, and of course our patrol roster. We hope to finalise these timetables in the very near future.
I’d strongly encourage every member to try something new this season, whether that be undertaking an advanced course, joining a committee, or participating in the surf sports section, no matter what area you’re considering there will definitely be an opportunity for you, and we are more than happy to support you.
After a couple of challenging years due to COVID-19 restrictions, and last season being our first season being back to normality, Elouera’s Board of Management will be developing, and executing ways in which we can retain and continue to grow our membership base across all sections of the Club. Some of these exciting activities will include, the return of the Sunday 11AM swim, Elouera social nights, some incredible activities and competitions for our youth, and so much more.
I look forward to seeing you on the beach in the coming months.

2. Sunday 17th September 2023 (9.00am – 11.00am)
Registration Day and Pool Proficiency will be held at Caringbah Pool (5-9 Jacaranda Rd, Caringbah NSW 2229).
How to register for Elouera Nippers
More info about registration can be found here: https://www.eloueranippers.com.au/the-club/how-to-join/ .
Pool proficiency
All Nippers have to complete their pool proficiency prior to getting into the water at Nippers.
This is not a pass/fail test. It is about ensuring that the appropriate resources are allocated to ensure a safe yet challenging environment for all Nippers.
Please ensure that you bring your children to one of these days and learn more about Elouera Nippers this year.

Preparations have been underway for the season start with IRB driver and crew training including the pre gear inspection of all Elouera rescue equipment.
Gear inspection on Saturday 2nd September and we were almost ready for this with rescue boards back from repair and first aid, oxygen and defibrillators having undergone there restock, calibration and certification.
The new patrol roster hours have not been finalised and is still in negotiation with Branch and State for the Elouera Lifesaving Agreement.
The dates are confirmed for each patrol (see below) and your Patrol Captain will have shared these by now:
2023-24 Elouera Patrol Roster:
As soon as the hours are confirmed the patrol roster will be finalised and published on the Elouera website.
Elouera patrol rules will also be finalised once the patrol LSA is finalised.
The Lifesaving team are trying to have equity with patrol member strength as there is a large disparity across the 12 Elouera patrols.
As a result, some members may be required to move from their existing patrol to a new patrol.
Volunteers have been called for and I hope that some put up their hand for this.
Myself, and others, have had to leave original patrols to maintain equity in patrol numbers and awards.
Let's have a safe season on the beach and in the water.
